Mines Advisory Group, UK
Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a UK-based humanitarian organisation which works to clear landmines and unexploded ordnance from war-torn countries. It was looking to improve efficiency by consolidating its disparate systems into one.
MAG finds and destroys, on average, more than 700 landmines and unexploded items every day across the globe, while also working to educate communities and train local people in landmine and unexploded bomb clearance.
MAG already had good information management processes in place, but was working with disparate systems, which became cumbersome and time-consuming. It identified a need to improve efficiency, uniting all of this data in an easy-to-use format.
Using CAMMS’ SYCLE solution for NGOs, with a focus on project and strategy management, MAG has now integrated all of its data so it has one source of truth. It can plan and report against organisational strategy with ease, while managing projects in a more robust and user-friendly way.
It has also used PowerData to create customised dashboards to easily monitor financial and operational performance.
MAG Director of Finance, Mick Darby, said CAMMS’ software had provided many benefits.
“We were looking for a centralised information management system, from which we can extract both operational and financial data, providing a single version of the truth for both our headquarters and field-based teams,” he said.
“We felt that CAMMS were able to provide the best value solution to our project brief, with the ability to tailor the software to our needs.”
