Frequently Asked Questions

To assist with the upcoming Beta program launch, we have put together the following Frequently Asked Questions regarding the process and what to expect.

What is a ‘Beta’ testing?

Software testing goes through two phases. The first is called ‘Alpha’ testing, the second is called ‘Beta’ testing. Alpha testing refers to the testing done internally by the development team (that’s us) to check for issues. Beta testing is the second phase of testing by selected end-users to expose the product to real-world scenarios prior to commercial launch.

How will this work?

By the 4th April morning, you will receive links and your login credentials to a Beta version of RevuMap v2. For existing CAMMS clients, this will be running a copy of your recent Live database, however please note it will be a ‘clean slate’ as far as RevuMap is concerned – the beta environment will not have previous service reviews done in v1.

Documentation to support your Beta experience

We’ll share with you an excel sheet template where you can record any feedback, including:

  • System issues
  • Suggested improvements
  • Feedback on the new features (i.e. love it, hate it or anything in-between)

To help you get acquainted with the new version, we will also provide additional Release documentation and ‘Quick Cards’ that can serve as cheat sheets in getting to know the new functionality.

How long will I have access to my Beta instance?

You will continue to have access to your Beta environment until RevuMap v2 is deployed to your normal test environment, currently slated for June 2018. However, we would appreciate if you can provide us your feedback by 27th April 2018, or as early as possible, so that we can act on it quickly and incorporate it into the release wherever possible.

Anything else I should know?

Yes, RevuMap v2 has a whole new interface and a set of neat features built using new technology. As such, the supported browsers for RevuMap v2 are:

  • Google Chrome (Recommended)
  • Internet Explorer 11
  • Microsoft Edge

If you are using any other browser, or older version of Internet Explorer (like IE9 and IE10), you should upgrade or switch to ensure RevuMap v2 functions optimally. If you need to keep an older version of IE for your other systems, our recommendation is to also install a separate browser, such as Chrome. You may need to reach out to your internal IT support staff to help you.
