9 Keeping up with CAMMS!

This edition of the newsletter sees the imminent release of new versions of two of our flagship products, highlights from some key industry events and once again we can congratulate our award winning clients on their fantastic work and efforts.

CAMMS has also signed up with two new partners and has achieved great success in our new Manchester, UK office - you can read more about that in this press release.

In other news our executive team recently met to discuss CAMMS future strategies and goals and set the business plans for the Financial Year 14-15.

Recognising the need for a hazard management system, Alexandrina Council initially decided to customise their current software because at that time they couldn't find a solution that would meet their needs.

When CAMMS released the Hazard Management Solution (HMS) earlier this year it immediately struck a chord with them. Alexandrina organised a trial version of HMS to test out the system and within days signed up for the full version.

"Being a council that is focused on efficiency, Alexandrina values the integration between CAMMS solutions, therefore we found it easy to make the choice to add HMS to our toolset." - Dario Brko, Business Systems Analyst

Last month, CAMMS hosted a NZ User Group Meeting in Auckland with a number of Local Governments from across the country in attendance. Facilitated by CAMMS' Matt Lovell and the NZ User Group Chairperson, Simon Jeune (Information Services Manager,
Gisborne District Council), the day served as a great opportunity to leverage the implementation successes and lessons learnt from CAMMS NZ users, strengthen relationships and knowledge sharing amongst the groups and learn from some of the thought-leading progressive LGs within the industry.

The sessions included some fantastic case study presentations from Waikato District Council (WDC) on their recent development and implementation of a Strategic Planning and Enterprise Project Management Framework using CAMMS interplan® and Integrated Project Manager solutions. WDC has also integrated CAMMS' solutions with their Finance (Technology One) and GIS systems to enable monitoring and reporting of Council's programs and portfolios of work across Council's wards,
as well as having the visibility of where Council's investments are being made and their respective areas of influence for each community.

Waikato Regional Council (WRC) also presented on their development and rollout of their Operational Performance Measurment Framework (OPMF), using CAMMS' interplan® solution as the enabler for automation and rollout of the framework. WRC demonstrated the conceptual frameworks and logic models that underpin the OPMF and how they are using the framework to improve the definition, capture of and reporting on organisational KPIs to drive better performance across all layers of the organisation.

Local Government Professionals Australia, NSW LG Awards Dinner

The 2014 LGMA National Congress & Business Expo held in Melbourne centred around the theme of "Productivity in Local Government" across a range of areas including infrastructure, workforce, innovation, technology and place making.

The congress featured Local Government delegates across Australia and international guests from Canada, Fiji, Indonesia, Jakarta, New Zealand, UK and South Africa.

A major highlight was the presentation by outgoing AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou on how he balances the time pressures of running the AFL to optimise productivity and effectiveness whilst still maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

This event aimed to provide attendees with information they could use to improve organisational performance and achieve a culture of excellence within their own local government organisations.

It was a great opportunity to catch up with CAMMS clients and learn about some innovative ways that Local Governments are improving performance across their organisation.

From Vision to Visible Results: Blazing New Trails
Beau, our NA GM says, "It was great to attend the LGMA BC conference in Vancouver last week to renew acquaintances and meet many forward thinking local government leaders from both BC and around the globe. With a theme of vision to visible results the event certainly resonated with all of us here at CAMMS. Many of the presentations provided valuable food for thought and in particular some of the key note presentations from special guests including the ever inspiring Chris Hadfield."

Here's a list of the events we will be participating in the near future.
